I’m just getting to the end of a long semester of teaching, and looking forward to a bit more time thinking about writing. I currently have two nonfiction book proposals with my agent (more news in the new year), but I’m also keen to get back to writing some fiction. So I’m particularly looking forward to my upcoming two week writing residency at the Taiwan Literature Base in Taipei, along with my Wind&Bones collaborator Hannah Stevens.
We’re working on a project called 經緯 / Interweavings, working individually and collaboratively on a series of stories that together will reflect the intricately interwoven nature of Taiwan’s history, culture and society.
We’re doing two events as a part of the residency: one is a writing workshop on 18th January (2pm - 4pm); and one is a final reading on 25th January. Then we’ll be home in Tainan in time for the lunar New Year.
Come along if you are in Taipei!
