Today, I’m on the way to Busan, Korea, where I’m taking part in the Indigo Youth Book Fair, along with my fellow writers and thinkers, Michelle Kuo, Brian Palmer, Mori Ken, Linnea Roman and Moon Min.
This four-day event is run by the wonderful people at Indigo Magazine. Indigo are a bookshop, education project, publishing phenomenon, vegan café, and youth activist organisation all rolled into one, and their centre in Busan is as close as it gets to an Epicurean garden of delights.
On Saturday, I’ll be talking about storytelling, testimony and ethical (un)certainty in the session on Believing In Things Unseen, and then on Sunday, I’ll be running a creative writing workshop, and taking part in the mini-conference called Living To Tell The Story: Letters to A Young Reader.
My Korean is no better than it was last time I was in Busan. But, given that back then it was nonexistent, it is at least no worse. And it will be wonderful to catch up with old friends and meet new friends over in Korea.
